Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Prime Gardener Dublin ("we", "us") collects when you use primegardener.ie, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We have written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not much use to anybody.

Who We Are

Prime Gardener Dublin is a garden maintenance business operating across Dublin and surrounding areas. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for the information described here.

You can contact us about anything in this policy by WhatsApp or phone on our number, or by email at [add your business email address].

What We Collect

Information you give us directly

If you use the quote form or contact us, you may provide your name, phone number, the area you live in, the service you need, and any details you choose to include about your garden. If you send us photos of your garden, we receive those too.

We only ask for what we need to quote for and carry out garden work. We do not ask for payment card details on this website, and we do not collect any special category data (such as health information).

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our analytics and advertising tools automatically collect technical information including your IP address, browser and device type, approximate location (usually city level), the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, and how you interact with pages.

How the Quote Form Works (Important)

Our quote form does not send your details to a server or a database. When you press "Send on WhatsApp", the form simply opens WhatsApp on your device with a message already written out. Nothing is transmitted to us until you choose to press send in WhatsApp itself.

This means two things worth knowing. First, you stay in control: if you close WhatsApp without sending, we never receive anything. Second, once you do send, the message travels through WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta and governed by its own privacy terms.

Cookies and Tracking Tools

This site uses two third-party tools that set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:

  • Microsoft Clarity. An analytics tool that shows us how visitors use the site, including heatmaps and recordings of page interactions such as scrolling and clicks. It helps us see which pages are useful and where people get stuck. Clarity is operated by Microsoft and is subject to the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • Meta Pixel. An advertising tool from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that tells us how people found the site and lets us measure and target advertising. It is subject to Meta's Data Policy.

We also load fonts from Google Fonts and icons from the Cloudflare CDN. Loading these means your IP address is shared with those providers as part of delivering the files. Our site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Why We Use Your Information (Legal Basis)

  • To respond to your enquiry and carry out work you have asked for. This is necessary to take steps at your request and to perform our agreement with you.
  • To run and improve the website. Our legitimate interest in understanding what visitors find useful.
  • For analytics and advertising cookies. These rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the controls described below.

How Long We Keep It

Enquiries and job records are kept only as long as we need them: to quote, carry out the work, deal with any follow-up, and meet tax and accounting obligations, which in Ireland generally means six years for financial records. Analytics and advertising data is retained by Microsoft and Meta according to their own retention periods, which we do not control.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
  • Have inaccurate information corrected
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we have no ongoing need to keep it
  • Object to or restrict how we use it
  • Withdraw consent for analytics and advertising cookies at any time
  • Ask for your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month. There is no charge for making a request.

How to Opt Out of Tracking

  • Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most offer a "do not track" or tracking-prevention setting.
  • Meta ad settings. If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, your ad preferences there control how Meta uses activity from sites like ours.
  • Browser extensions. Content and tracker blockers will prevent both Clarity and the Meta Pixel from loading.

Blocking these tools does not affect your ability to use the website or contact us.

Children

This website is intended for adults arranging garden services. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make that clear rather than quietly editing the text.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Irish supervisory authority:
